Wonderful detail and textures. Their eyes are glassy and clear and really draw the viewer in. The glossyness of the background is a little problematic, as we lose the black cat in it. |

I like this photo....it's a shame there's not a little more contrasting around the black cat to highlight him a little more but I think it's wonderful. |

I am NOT a fan of cat shots,BUT this is a very nice representation of black and white. Focus is good, color looks good, 6 |

Tough subject to light! nicely done. Bringing your main fron the same side as the black cat will help you bring detail into the black and not blow out the details in the white cat. |

Marvelous kitty pic. Not really much to gripe about, perhaps place them on a different background to make the black one show up better. I'm pretty sure that this photo was one of oppurtunity though. Cats never do what you want. 8 |

This could have been better if they were not against black background. |

Nice idea for this challenge. The subjects are interesting--and I know it can be difficult to get a cat to cooperate, no less two! But the thing that stands out is, unfortunately, the pixelated whiskers. Can't tell you how to fix it, it depends on the camera and post-processing. |

looks just a tad too sharp. But way cute! I'd like to see more light around the black cat - it blends into the background with this set-up. |

What can I say, I'm a sucker for cat pictures. :) Looks like the whiskers are a tad over sharp. This should probably get a lower score on the technical side (over sharpened, some hilights blown out) but frankly they are just too cute. :) Exposing correctly in this situation is hard. You might burn in a bit on the white kitty. 7 |

Aww cute cats! Nice shot overall although I think you oversharpened a bit. You can see it in the cat whiskers.. 7 |

I know photographs of cats and pets usually get slagged in the DPForums. However, I personally love the animal shots better than the people shots. This one in particular is extremely well done and I just love the expressions. Despite what people think, I know cats are very hard to capture with your camera because oft heir eyes. You did a perfect job. this ia great submission - 10 |

Awww very cute cats! The black one gets a little lost on the black leather sofa, but the white one stands out perfectly! |

I love this shot, but then again, I love cats, LOL!
Great composition, expressions, lighting. The leather chair is my only problem, the reflections are a tad distracting. A 9 |

Ooh, I like this a lot except that the black kitty gets lost against the dark background. Is there anything that can be done with lighting to bring him out a little more? Otherwise, I love the way they are "posed", particularly the white cat and they're eyes being the only color in the shot is neat since (I assume) this is a natural phenomenon and not a trick of post processing. |

could have used a different color for the sofa/background to emphasize black and white

This would have been more successful with a different colored background. A color, or a neutral grey would have worked. Cut kitties though. |
