Well I wanted to go to the Dad Vail Regatta and try something there, but I had to work Saturday so that was out. Went to my brother's place and took this shot of one of his two dalmatians, Dangerfield (the other is Clouseau....the St.Bernard is Mozart...go figure). This dal was missing for month and returned eventually. I have not done dog or animals shots at all, to speak of so this is pretty new to me.
Post..Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation. Cloned away the tail from behind the top of the head. Color cast to get rid of some green around the white of the dog. USM. Crop. Resize. USM. Yes it is a dog shot....thanks in advance for pointing it out.

A wider aperture would have been appropriate...thats a pretty animal

Contrast looks a bit dark and color balance is a bit off as I can see a slight tint of red in the white areas on the Dalmation (not counting the area around the mouth). Subject is in nice focus.

This is a nice dog shot. The focus is crisp and there are good highlights in the dog's eyes. It's not an amazing shot though. I gave it a four because I'm sceptical that this is something you've never shot before. Otherwise, I would have given it a five.

Wonderful capture of this dog's eyes and expression. I think it is slightly soft in focus perhaps mostly due to low DOF. Centric composition hurts this a little.
