What a nice idea for Mother's Day! You choice of subject and quality are good. Framing is well balanced on the frame. I would use noise reduction to smooth out the background noise a little bit. I think a little more contrast weould make this image even more vibrant. However, I would NOT use brightness/contrast adjustments for that. That is because increasing contrast would lose some of the flower's marvelous detail. Instead, in photoshop anyway, I would use "selective color" to deepen black more. This has the effect of increasing contrast without losing image detail. In any case this is a very nice image. |

In terms of simple technical competence this is wonderful. However, there's an element of meaningfulness that I look for in a shot, and I don't find much here - no great absorbtion in the light, and no great attraction in the image as a whole. Still a 6 though. |
