Challenge: Something New II (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Sony Mavica FD-95
Location: Sweet Home, OR
Date: May 8, 2004

Spectrum: The distribution of energy emitted by a radiant source, as by an incandescent body, arranged in order of wavelengths. Basically, a rainbow :)

This is a rainbow that came up over the "Meet of Champions" (a track meet) in Sweet Home, OR. The seperation between light and dark is natural, or at least that is how the camera captured it. I hope people notice the second rainbow in the upper right corner.

Post processing: brighness/contrast, levels/curves, saturation, blurring, neat images, sharpening.

Was this taken through a window? It has a glare feel. I love the vivid colors and the composition too. See if you can take your next rainbow with a polarizer and 100 ISO. It may help a little bit. :)

I haven't been able to catch a rainbow yet. Nice shot.

Very pretty capture of a rainbow with an interesting sky for background. Why is it so much bluer above the rainbow that below?

Neat mix of blues before and after the rainbow! I've tried shooting rainbows in the past and found them very hard to get just right. The colors here are pretty strong.

Stunning composition for a rainbow shot! The refraction distinction between the bright area under the rainbow and the darker area behind the rainbow occurs naturally and is one of the sure signs of honest non-digitally altered rainbow photography. Also, I love the surprise of the second bow in the upper right corner. Great Job!

I've always wanted to try and photograph a rainbow but was always without my camera. Interesting how you got the right side of the rainbow a darker blue than the left side.

Beautiful rainbow. I like the two depths of blue. The shot could use a bit more of a focal interest and sharpness, but an overall pleasing image!

Beautiful colors. The difference in sky color on each side of the rainbow seems a little unnatural, but still a nice photo.
