thanks everyone..I know, everyone has their preferences about it being to center........ I like it. I have one off center and it did nothing for me. Seems like everything has to be off center..well i feel like I have grown in photography enough to place things where ever in a photo as long as I have the right angle. Subject of course does matter.
I put my foot down..no more rule of thirds. it is to "in the box" for me. :-)) |

at first I thought it was too centered, but then with the clouds behind and aligned with the tree make it sort of nice and peaceful, but I still think too centered |

Nice depth to this image. Having the tree positioned in the middle of the frame works well in this instance because the outcrop of rocky plateau balances the whole very nicely. |

take you editing just a bit further and you would have the look of Ansel Adams, nice location |

I love desolate, especially black and white. This good image would be a cracker if the tree was less central :) |

I love the tones in this...not sure about the central placement of the tree compositionally speaking...I do really like this though 7 |

excellent high contrast duotone - the centered crop is bold and works nicely - especially how the clouds behind seem to frame the tree |

So how did you get the clouds to cooperate? |
