This shot was taken during usual photo-walk around the town. This place is interesting - a bunch of abandoned cars at the backside of a police stations. I guess these cars are brought there after some traffic accidents, but happen to be junked there when the disputes/claims are over or get prolonged. They also make a happy place for children to play around.
As I was passing by this, I saw this group of children. One was flying a cat (the part of which has somehow come into this frame), the other with her doll, one was generally enjoying others play, while this girl has something in her hand which fascinated her. Suddenly I her sweeping down, putting on this glass and looking into something (which I only later realized was a mirror hung on the sides of one of the cars). This moment would have lasted few seconds.
Luckily, I had camera on my hand and could catch her in this moment. Since I had to shoot within the clutter of cars, I might have included some things that that could possibly be included/excluded from the composition.
By the scores, so far, the response is luke-wark overall. But some of you have like this picture very much, and have cared to comment - to which I am extremely thankful as it puts the things in perspective for me, and gives me encouragement. I was happy with the capture, was satisfying moment/click for me; so thought would include this picture. :-)
Good Day!

This photograph would have had a lot more oomph/impact/wow-factor if it was cropped close to the face of the girl.
even though foreground and background elements provide sense of "reality" and convey the message you are trying to portray through the title, it takes a lot away from the photograph itself. just my two cents.
over all i like the image for its journalistic value. |

The piece of sheet metal or what it might be on the top of the picture is annoying. But other than that this is a very nice shot that tells a story. Upgraded from a 5 to an 8 on my second pass and after studying it closer. |

An interesting and cute shot of this girl. Composition does not sit right with me, especially the OOF piece of car inthe foreground, but the pic is sharp with good colors and lighting. I am guessing this was a shot of opportunity and not staged or you would have composed it differently. |
