 I have always liked the way light scatters through glass, and I thought the difference between the light cast through an empty bottle, and one with water in it was interesting. I tried this first with clear water, but it wasn't obvious enough what the difference was between the two.

Sunlight, no fill.

Good idea, bad execution of the shot. The shadows really hurt this shot and the bright sun, while normally is a great light source is overpowering in this instance to me. Also the surface has too much texture and is also a distraction. Maybe if you could have done this inside, using light from a window to provide the natural light but giving you the chance to have a more solid background? Also the angle of the shot seems off, maybe a more head on attempt? I could see this shot well done and if you do decide to redo it I would love to see the results. As is a 3

Interesting effect, but I find the background distracting. The placement of the bottles is awkawrd to me as well. I think you could improve the point of view by getting lower.

nice lighting. a bit of a stretch for "opposites", though. would've liked to see a different angle to better fill the shot with the subject.

Seems like the right mood lighting could've taken this picture to a 10! I like the idea, and the blue reflections are tantalizing close to brilliant. Still a great shot.

A good idea for this challenge. The reflections of light and shadow cast by the jars really "makes" the subject. Just wish there was a bit more of the cast light. The size of the photo makes it hard to appreciate. (Try to max out that 640 pixels on the longest side for best display in these challenges.) Overall, a decent pic.

nice idea but bad crop.... should have been closer to your subject... even if that means shooting at a different angle.

Definite opposites, but I don't find this photo very interesting. It also seems that the clear bottle, should actually be clear, but it looks full of water with the reflection on the ground.
