A picture of light vs darkness. Very much inspired by the movie 'Super Sapiens'. The title itself pretty much tells you that, being a line spoken by the Dr in the movie.

Light and dark certainly capture "opposite." Perhaps if the candle was off-center, so that the light would be on a side opposite of darkness (rather than surrounded by it) then every element of the image would be working together. Nice work.

A wonderfully simple photo. Your exposre is good, though I might like to see the candle placed slightly off center to give the darkness more dominance to underscore the opposition.

Flame is unsharp, out of focus, or overesposed. The tray its in is also distracting from its reflective properties. This might have worked better with a match or candle.

This image is ok though it may not show a very creative expression of the challenge subject. Think this is one of thouse images which is squeezed into the challenge bye the tilte. But all the same the image is fine.

....but the light dispels darkness. There can be no darkness when a light is present!! so glad!

In the title....... I think you proved yourself wrong by showing a picture of the light cuting through the darkness. Lets be honest.......the light will always beat the darkness. Good shot though!
