Love the fact that this butterfly was captured in its natural surroundings as a whole as opposed to a shot that has a blurred out background. The colors set the mood and the warmth of tones to it, really make this shot lovely and inviting! |

Lovely shot. The butterfly is beautifully positioned and his colour and that of the flowers make the image rich and warm. |

Lovely butterfly with nice detail, and the flower looks like some kind of milkweed. Gotta' get me some milkweed this spring. |

We seem to get so few butterflies here in the UK these days, so it is lovely to see other's photos of them. This is really nice - crisp focus and lovely colours on the butterfly, and interesting that it is feeding on a flower of similar colours. Do you think that is just chance, or part of nature's design? On a technical note, it would be good if there was just a bit more separation of the foreground subject from the background - I think that has more to do with the similarity of colours than with the depth of field not being shallow enough, and personally in this instance I am not terribly keen on the coloured border. |

Nice one, Dave. As we are balmy today ... all the way up to 32 degrees ... you hassle us by showing us this beautiful butterfly hinting at what Spring will bring us in several more months.
Seriously, nice capture. Nice crisp details and a warm feel too. |
