I was compelled to watch the 1950's sci-fi flick "The Forbidden Planet" this morning, which inspired me to dig out my robot for a photo shoot. Yes, I have some strange toys.

And hats off to Leslie ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' goodman for the idea of photographing a robot :-)

Processing was Color Efex Pro tonal contrast a couple of times, then a cross processing filter. Then there's about three layers from Playingwithbrushes's fantastic gallery here.

Great shot and the layers/processing gives it that 70's feel.

Heh! Thought this was Goodman! I so need to learn brushes. But I suspect having an artful touch with them would come in handy as well - do you sell that perchance? Perfectly titled by the way. And she looks very friendly! (And I'm assuming she's a she.)

I suppose those must be shelves of books behind it, but with the LB bokeh I can imagine them the cold, corrugated metal walls of a spaceship. I have no escape!

So Goodman like but with your own twist! The first thing I thought of was "Take me to your Leader". Great PP as well!

Love it. Now I must dig out my robot and give him the lensbaby treatment.

It's perfect 1950's space comic/magazine style (with a little allowance for aging on the dodgy colour rendition of the day).
Alas, I remember those comics and magazines at first hand.
Here's a chuckle for you; those mags made me think about astronomy as a career. Starstruck, I guess.

I saw the thumb and thought it was lesley's. This is so wonderful. The editing - oh yeah. You should make a line of postcards. You and les could do a bi-continental line of cards. :~) FAVING THIS ONE
