I just got back from a youth camp. One student lost a screw in his glasses. A couple of the leaders/staff took apart their glasses to see if any of the screws would fit. Mine didn't... and now I can't put it back together. I was going to take a picture of it anyway, but to my surprise, this weeks challenge was GLASSES! WOO HOO!

Taken on my K100D super with a Fmount 35mm/2.0 Nikkor manual.

Edits- crop, levels, dodge and burn, clone stamped out a white spec that was on my table, cropped again, and then one more time, then added borders and resized

Love the title! The lighting is good, but the image seems a bit grainy and soft. I think most of it is due to the use of excessive JPEG compression. Your file size of only 78k indicates a highly compressed image and that is what could be robbing a lot of the detail and smoothness from this image. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. (200k for this one)

I don't know what you use for editing, of course, but I have posted an example and some notes on the compression settings in PaintShop Pro:

Hope this is helpful for you.

Ohhhh..makes me want to scream when that happens! Looks like the levels or something might have been over-adjusted???? It shows on the screw but, still a lovely shot

Is this an extreme crop? Or maybe over sharpened? I like the idea though.
