While doing research for this challenge I became aware that Ansell Adams processed a lot of his photos using Silver Gelatin to create a deep feel to his photos this took away the standard B/W look but still maintained the texture in his photos, whether DPC will be aware of this will tell in the voting, if noticed 6.5. if not 4.5.
This shot was taken hand held while traveling in an old steam locomotive.

I like the dark, ominous sky here, it really sets the mood. I think if there were a little more burning to the sky that it could have nailed the dramatic effect. Well done and good capture!

Great dramatic clouds and good tonal range. Not sure what your subject is though, the highest tree possibly? After looking at this for a while there are two things which I don't like about it. The cloud to the left of the shot is more prominent than the rest and steals my attention, but it's not quite interesting enough on its own to make the shot. The second thing is what I already mentioned, a lack of any real subject.

needs a little more tonal range, at least on my monitor, and would have like the comp a bit more to the right, cropped a bit closer to the right most tree.
Great choice of subject ....

You caught some lovely tones in the sky. It's a subtle image.

lacks of contrast, sepia toning doesn't add and makes the image less "Anselish"

Did you use D&B on this? Nicely done if you did. Really adds depth.
