This is the only Victorian house in my neck of the woods (and it could be yours for a bit over a million bucks). This is actually a vertical panorama composed of three images. This isn't my preferred subject for a pano, but since I couldn't fit it in one image even with the wide angle attachment, I thought I'd give it a try. I am looking forward to experimenting more with panoramas, something cool to me about the focus fading in and out.

To create the panorama I increased the canvas size on the middle image then pasted bits for the top and bottom, then erased the edges to make them blend a bit. Processing was to run shadow and highlight, then Color Efex Pro bleach bypass then Silver Efex Pro Antique Plate I for the sepia coversion. I had to clone out some power lines as well. Here's the original:

Looks to be right out of a spooky novel.

In the right setting (maybe on the wall in the turret) I think this would make a great 'big' print and think shown on the web we lose a lot of the impact of the image. Is it my eyes or does it lean slightly to the right?

Wicked! Almost hauntingly so.

What a cool idea!! Interesting how the blur blends, restarts, blends again.

A well done photomerge, not I would have caught it since some of the distortion could be attributed to the lens. Love the PP on this, very 1800's feel.

I've thought of a pano with the LB, but I have never done a pano of anything, and it would probably take me all night to figure it out, and with poor results. I like!
Always wanted a house with a turret.

Such a nice old photo look to this. Ordinarily, given my tastes, I might feel this shot was too hemmed in at the sides, but I think the extreme vertical crop works well with this, complements the verticality of the narrow turret and that wonderful tree, a wonderful "intruder" into the composition.

Hmmmm. So that's why there's some LB blur in odd places. Good idea and well-executed. Thanks, also, for the notes. Something else to try.

Isn't it interesting how sinister this looks when you convert it ? The LB of course, gives it that sense of mystery, but it's down right scary in sepia!!!
