Just enough of the yellow to tell what it is. Cool flight shot! |

The flash stopped the action nicely and the longer shutter speed shows some motion which helps a lot IMHO :) |

What a great action shot. And his eye is so sharp. It is all just beautiful, and extra points for degree of difficulty! |

I have been trying to get a decent photo of a garden bird coming in to land, but with no success. Seeing your photo I feel inspired to keep trying. Did you use flash? Good work! |

Nice angle and motion. Very pretty moment in time captured by your lens. What makes it even more special is the sharp eye and catch light. Great! |

Sweetie this is a good shot to catch.. The approach /landing timing is pefect, wing span, catch light in the eye, detail of bird..
Well Done!!..

They always make landing look so easy - it's interesting to see just how much is going on the second before they land.
Tail splayed out as a brake, wings angled, feet reaching out , eye's focused on what to us is just a little feeder, but to him is huge. It's like us jumping onto a tiny ledge in front of a huge tree trunk !
Good capture. |

Very nice, Patio Gal!! I just chose to stay home from work today due to icy conditions ... imagine that. Glad you found my little side challenge. Jane found it too.
I just spent a good long time shooting icy branches out the window, we'll see how they look a bit later.
I really like the slight diagonal your Pine Siskin makes in the shot and how sharp he/she is and yet the background is nice and soft.
PS: Your comment about the tree entry. Of course I would have gone back and got that shot again if we had snow during the single tree week. NO ... just before and just after. I'm so very lucky. |

What a great shot! I am impressed at the way you caught this little fellow during landing. |
