 Sexes: Alike. Bright red face, throat and upper breast, bordered by a broad black collar .Shade of red vary from bright scarlet to salmon pink.
Habitat: Mostly well wooded habitats, especially where fruit trees abound.
Food: Fruit, Insects and nectar.

The large beak and membrane at the top of they eye give a sense of character to the expression. Nice to have the background out of focus. With exotic species I find myself without a mental reference to judge fidelity of color rendering.

I know its gotta be tough to do but I think it would have been made a little better by having the eye in focus. Great colors and love the ... whatever that is.. hes perched on.
