The elements of the shot are an special made ice cube and a little candle. Three sources of light (besides the candle), two torches covered with a blue film and the light from nokia 2100 mobile to light the upper side of the ice cube. Postprocessing with the Gimp: slight rotation, cropp, sharpen edges enhance a little the constrast and a border.

A very interesting way of handling the fire and ice concept. I like the the colors very much and your decision to position the tip of the flame dead center.

One of the few fire/ice attempts I actually liked. I'ts the tones and textures colours in the block of ice that make it interesting.
Good effort.

Whoa, I thought of trying something almost exactly like this. Good job, it turned out much better than mine did!

Very nicely done--the best of the fire and ice pictures I've seen in this challenge so far.

one of the better fire and ice shots in the challenge. I'd still like to see more interaction between the 2 elements than is presented, but I like the circular cut out and the candle glow on the ice.

Very nice shot. The colors of top left and bottom right corner of ice is really adding punch! 8 out of 10!

Definitely opposite - and definitely used by a lot of others! But yours is a very nice rendition of the ice/fire theme. Colors are wonderful, composition right on, exposure near perfect. Your border show depart the scene though - especially with the white halo at several places in the main image. Nice patterns and textures in the ice.
