Congratulations on a very effective shot. I was hopping to see this on the front page or at least in the top ten, so I'm a little shocked to see it here in the 5 range. I know there were other finger to lips shots, but this one really stands out compositionally imho and I'm a little disappointed DPCers didn't score it better.

I really like the composition and direction created with the blown hair. Pretty eyes are also well contrasted by the dominant brown tones. Great pic!

Great shot! Definitely my favorite of the "finger-to-lips" photos in this challenge.

So many entries that show a person with a finger pressed to their lips. I know it's meant to imply "Quiet or Be silent" but the image does just not convey a feeling of "Silence" to me. 5

Technically good and a good composition, but I find the necklace slightly distracting. The other thing that bothers me a little bit is the lack of realism - If I were telling someone to "shhhh", my finger would be pressed against my lips, not hovering in front of them.

i think that this is an awesome picture.
i would have cropped out the piece of hair by her left eye though.

Lots of 'shhhh's in this contest, but I like this one more than most. I think its the framing and hair. nice shot

I like the breaking of the rules. Usually you leave more room on the left when the person is facing the left. but bringing it to the edge draws your eyes in to the flowing hair.

Two very small issues: the wisp of hair showing on the left is distracting (extra fan to make sure it's all blowing back since you can't photoshop it?), and having her move the finger more to the left so that it's centered more on the mouth. It's a really small thing, but I liked this picture very much, but something bothered me the more I looked at it. So I thought you might be interested...

very, very nice shot

This is nice, however I feel that if it was cropped maybe a half an inch more towards the bottom it would be much better due to the little gold necklace peaking out.

excellent portrait. did you really need the finger. I think it works without.
