It has been raining all week...
I went out to my favorite tree, hoping for a ray of sunrise under the clouds along the horizon... nothing.
This was my best shot of the batch.
PP...
adjust contrast, levels, shadows and highlights, apply photofilter, variations, grunge filter, resize, USM, noise reduction, more variations and a dash of hope for a score of around 6.0
lens set at 31mm
manual settings, OS off, shot from tripod
Post challenge - I was asked to validate during the challenge, a first for me. But, interestingly enough, my score moved up quite a bit after validating. |

I don't know how you did the texture - looks almost like it was shot thru another viewfinder or an older camera. But it looks wonderful and antiquish. Love the colortone - gives off a rainy day kind of mood. |

Nice edge treatment - it really adds to the drama of the photo. |

I love the editing on this -- the parchmenty look -- but I'm not quite sure it's legal. I really hope it is though -- this really looks fabulous!
My only nitpick is that it is perhaps a bit oversharpened -- I think you're beginning to get halos.

What really works is that vignette/border. Suits the image. Great use of stark black in the silhouetted scene. I also like that greenish tinge to the duotone. |

Background seems to have too much noise. Could be that you intended for that, judging by the choice in frame, which is fine but the sharpness of the foreground doesn't seem to quite match that old fashioned sepia toned photo quality. Nice subject, good composition. 7. |
