Challenge: Opposites (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon PowerShot G1
Location: Marstrand Harbour, Sweden
Date: May 11, 2004
Date Uploaded: May 11, 2004

Tested several other subjects until I saw my boat in the back of every picture... I've tried to get some kind of opposit feeling between starboard/port...

good

Right side is really over exposed.

Interesting shot, but too much confusion in my opinion. Light/dark? Right side/left side?
Right side was too washed out too.

I take it the opposite here is 'Underexposed, Overexposed'.

opposites? what the hell has this gotta do with the theme?

very harsh lighting from the right. sorry, but i don't see your connection to opposites.

good use of light and shadow

I wish it wasn't overesposed on the right as I like the dramatic sidelighting in this. Seems like ti would benefit from a little sharpening as well.

I don't get what is opposite here- light and dark? The bright (overexposed) light at the right draws the eye away from the subject and pulls the eye out of the frame leaving the entire left side of the photograph dark and unnoticed. There is nothing of interest for the eye on the left.

I dont undesrtand it as oposite to one subject included in this photo.

Nice photo, but I'm not sure about opposites...
05/12/2004 11:23:22 PM
And the opposite would be?
05/12/2004 08:04:01 PM
I don't see the opposite in this photograph.
05/12/2004 07:13:22 PM
Opposites, not sure I see your idea here..... sorry.

This looks just a little bit washed out.

I'm guessing the Opposite is the boat on dry land? Not really sure. The shot is blown out on the right side and too dark on the left. It seems a bit hazy also. The composition is okay but nothing to really hold my attention. A 3

not sure if this meets the "opposites" theme. Too bad the lighting washed it out so much, or it would have been a really appealing shot.

Opposites? It looks like a snapshot. It just needs a lot of work.

not sure I get it
