 Well, I must have driven and walked around for 6 hours to find a stupid tree that would work. The main problem was finding a suitable backdrop.

I was just about to give up, when I came upon this. I precariously pulled over to the side of the road on a hill and before a blind curve and shot out of the window, rolled forward a bit and shot again.

So just for sake of effort, I hope this does well. I processed it in color and it just wasn't right.

In the background are the Squaw Peak Mountains. There's an agave at the bottom of the photo - I hope I don't get slammed because it's *gasp* centered.

This was converted with Silver Efex - increase in structure and contrast, heavy on the red filter.

lol this "stupid tree" works hehe. I gave it a 7. I really do love the sky and clouds. Also that you captured the shadows from the clouds too. Beautiful!

oh, Alicia, this is so nicely done the image and the conversion...I gave this a 7

underrated IMO

i would love to see a mesquite tree up close, in its WARM environs!!
