This idea came in the last moment.
Quick settings, couldn't find a proper black backgroun, played with other background colors and eventually returned to black after using a piece of black paper and my floor speakers for background.
Took many pictures, eventually picked this one - not too happy with result actually, but let's hope you like it more :-)
I wouldn't mind making the colors more vivid, but no time and I wanna go to sleep.
Post-processing: NeatImage, Cropping, Rotating, Resizing, USM, lite contrast adjustment.
Thanks to guy(guy17il) for the tips & idea.
Oh yea, I have a little tip for you - Never try to stop the flames by covering the glass with something solid, it made some bad cracks in the glass - so I stopped taking pictures afterwards, gonna throw it to the trash now. LOL

I love this picture. I also very much appreciate the comment you made on my picture "Black and White" on the Rocks. You inspired me to learn how to process the picture to overcome the bright, harsh lighting. You can see the result of your inspiration by clicking on my profile. |

One of the best fire shots of the challenge, I thought of doing something like this but couldn't find a suitable glass. Did a really good job on getting the color of the fire just right.... nice. |

One of many water/ice/fire entries - but one that I don't tire of looking at. Superb colors - the hint of orange in the flame really makes it sing. Two minor suggestions: 1) The white highlights on the glass are a bit distracting and 2) It could be better if we could see the base of the glass a bit more clearly. Overall - an exceptional submission. |

It's hard to tell where the water is in the picture. It's mainly focused on the flame, but there are really nice colors in the flame. |

It would have looked cool if you cropped off the sides around the glass and the bottom so you don't see the stem of the glass. |

Out of the water/ice and fire shots, this is one of my favorites. I personally would have liked to have seen it cropped tighter at the bottom, leaving none of the stem, but that is just me. |

Awesome colors but the lighting on the glass should have been a little brighter so you can see through the water. |

Nice; reflections in glass are distracting. |

Excellent idea! The colors on the fire are amazing and the texture and shapes that they create are very engaging. I'd like to see the water lit just a little more to highlight the "opposite" nature of your composition. Good work. |
