Having shot the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts both inside and out for years I have found the trees in the Dorrance Hamilton Garden on top of the Perelman Theatre, the smaller of the two main performing areas in Commonwealth Plaza (AKA the main floor), to have been a distraction from time to time. Or so I have been told in a challenge entry or two. Anyways, it was nice to include one.

I thought of this mid week and went Friday around noon to shoot. Having been in the garden several times in the past, I thought it would be good to shoot from a low angle and try to get one of the four trees just against the barrel vault atrium roof of the center. So I get there and there are now 9 trees. ARGGGHHHH!...I hate change. So I shot the center most tree against the roof from a low level. But the image has a lot of distractions at top from reflections below....cropping was not a choice feeling that the image needs the height. So shot some more and ending with this composition that includes are portion of Verizon Hall (the wood slats bottom center to right). There you have it....I LOVE the title and thought of it before I shot it so I make no apologies for the punniness of it. :)

Post: Camera Raw Adjustments in PSElements 6.0. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Curves adjustmennt. Clone dust, distractios on the windows and a small lamp at the top left of Verizon Hall (the wood slats at the bottom). Disotrtion correction tool to staighten the bottom right. Adjust sharpness. Resize. USM.

I like the title. This is an interesting find. Makes me wonder more about what the actual scene looks like.
