Whalesharks are the biggest fish on the planet and this one was around 6 metres! Swimming along side them you feel very small in every way! The weirdest thing is that although they are so big, you are still surrounded by silence even when you are this close.

Very beautiful photo of this gentle silent giant of the deep. It certainly conveys the feeling of silence very well. I would have liked to see the bottom part of the whale's tail as well where it fades away into the darkness. Still it's a very nice image and I feel it deserves an 8

Wow!

I would suggest adding a little more contrast to this, it almost looks just a tad underexposed. The deep blue tones do give a very nice sense of silence and peace here, though.

Nice. Whale Shark, not everyday one gets a chance to photograph these. If I wasn't scared to death of any creature in the sea bigger than my hand, I'd love to swim with one.

Basking shark or whale shark? If it had been slightly better exposed this would of been a great shot.
