 I like the overall shot I got here, though it was not my original idea. The LP is a copy of Hank Williams Sr's. Greatest Hits, and the original idea had been to contrast his LP and a modern day country artist/group on the MP3 player.

I had wanted to get something that enhanced the fine tracks on the LP, but the lighting didn't quite work. A little playing with levels turned the record album into an outlined silhouette, which I really liked.

There are a fair amount of technical flaws in this that I could have fixed had this been an advanced challenge. I may get some comments on the following:

-Dust specks on the record that I should have cleaned off before the shot. Could have been cloned out if this were advanced.

-Graininess in the background.

-Blur in the MP3 player's screen resulting from the long exposure. (I could have worked on my lighting some more)

Pre-challenge prediction:
I'm going to guess a low to mid 5 for this. I think I have a minor amount of wow factor, but too many flaws to hit a 6.

Post-challenge notes:
Mis judged this one, but the low 4 was what it deserved, I would have probably given it a 4 myself. A decent idea that I wasn't able to carry off this time.

Dixie Chicks!?!?!?! Just kidding! Nice composition & love how the colors pop. One little nit-pick though would be it would be nice if the words/screen was a little sharper.

I agree with your assessment...the blurred display definitely detracts from the image, as does the overly bright ring thingy...the player itself is quite well-done though, sharp and clear.

It's ridiculously hard to photograph electronics; I photographed my cellphone once, and had to use the GIMP to put the screen in afterwards.

A couple other detractors are the funky pattern in the upper part of the picture and the constellation of dust/hot pixels in the left.

Had I been voting, this would probably been a 4 or a 5...
