Two Bald Eagles at a wildlife sanctuary/education center called the Virginia Living Museum. The one on the left has just the one wing; the one on the right has half a wing on each side. Many of the animals there have such disabilities which preclude releasing them back into the wild. Thye still look fiercely proud, despite their handicaps. Neat place to visit if you get the chance.

PP - converted from RAW, cropped, dodged eyes and heads some, gradient filter to darken top of background and make the heads stand out better, cloned out a few distracting bright spots, reduced noise, added border, resized, sharpened.

Nice capture. Nice processing to bring the heads out. Cool to see two Eagles together like this.

In spite of their handicaps they still have very predatory expressions. Great shot.

These birds are so powerful looking.

Wow, I have just read your description - considering their lack of wings they do certainly look fiercely proud, and in remarkably good condition.

You did good to keep detail in both the light and dark feathers in this shot. The dodging and burning helped in with that too. That's a natural looking setting that they have made for them. Thanks for sharing the story about the museum.

Nice lines and pose of the eagles. Usually they seem so serious but this photo has some humor. They do, however, look proud and well cared for. Nicely done!

They may have a 'below average' number of wings between them- but they seem to have the correct amount of Beaks and Talons :- )

"Love the wing span here, Mary. It looks like he is a vampire saying "Come in, my lovely, come right in." "

Rofl - you're absolutely right . .

Love the wing span here, Mary. It looks like he is a vampire saying "Come in, my lovely, come right in." OK, maybe I'm crazy, OK, I am crazy ... but ...

And the eye on the right hand Eagle is fantastic. Good shot.
