Makes a lovely picture with all those layers, and the white egrey is a great point of interest. The heat haze has a glass filter look. |

That heat looks pretty scary. I'm surprised the Egret didn't have issues with the smoke, but maybe he was upwind of it. |

In England, moorland is burned on a rotating basis, just like you describe. I really admire this photo - it conveys the feeling of intense heat so well. The addition of the Cattle Egret is the icing on the cake. |
