I belong to the Socorro County Arts organization, and one of the chores I must do in order to have my work shown in the gallery is man the gallery once a month. This is one of the more interesting sculptures (or whatever you call somthing made of sticks and stones and barbed wire). Not my usual subject matter, but I found this rather interesting. I was trying out a new toy, a Precision Design 0.25X Super AF FishEye Lens. It's actually just a screw-on attachment you put on a normal lens. It sure doesn't have the clarity of a real fisheye, but I cannot at all afford such a lens at this time :-)

For processing I cropped, converted to b&w with Silver Efex Pro, then added a layer by Dubtastic I found here.

The fish eye works really well here because it makes the cross seem so much more dominating, just like how religion is a dominant force in the lives of those who believe.

This is one of my favorites so far. I really like the way the distortion works with the sculpture.

Lots of story and symbolism here.

I'm sure this has some kind of crucifixion reference. I like the juxtaposition between the arch of the fish eye on the right, as well as that images inclusion of both windows. Lots of symbolism here.

The distortion is great and goes so well with the subject matter. I really like the monochromatic conversion as well.
