Great combination of the child/flag and the shadow of the same. |

This one is nice too. good contrast and sharpness with your conversion, and a nice juxtaposition.
Why is he waving an Australian flag at a 4th of July parade, though?

Your diptychs are always so interesting. I love this combination! The more I look at it, the more I agree with the other about the sinister undertones in this with the darkness, all the shadows, and the fact that the boy seems so alone in both photos. The only other people you see are in the bottom image and they're all walking away! I really like this. |

The darkness in this image is forboding, Nick. Great couple of very different captures. |

Even though these are photos of a child waving a flag on a sunny day it has a bit of an ominous feeling to me. In the first photo part of the shadow looks like the child has a claw for a hand. In the bottom photo we can't see the child's face, it's like a shroud. It's almost like a sinister movie where people are forced to pledge allegiance to a country and ruler that is oppressive. I am sure if the photos were in colour I would not get these feelings. Very good work. |

I love how you photographed the same subject, in two totally unique and original ways! This is really outstanding!
