This was on the day that Moon was closer to the Earth than it had been in a while, so I grabbed a few shots. There is mostly miles of open land to the east of us here, except for the couple miles of rural neighborhood we're imbedded in, in which this is a typical view. Oh, and I finally learned why folks throw tires on their mobile homes; evidently it helps to keep the tin roof from rattling in the high winds we have here. Although I like Waddy's explanation better :-) Attractive, isn't it?

Very nice and great accompanying explanation re: tires on roofs. That does make sense although it's somewhat of an eyesore. The moon/mts do tend to compensate though.

I like the honesty of this shot. I was always curious about why people put old tires on top of house trailers. Maybe it helps repel UFO's? : )

Nice moon shot. I think that I would try to rub out the power line, but it is still a nice snapshot.
