Fragments of memory from that night:
~So, Chris and me were waiting for the tram when this amuzing guy came buy. He was drunk as hell but I guess he had a reason. He was not homeless, although he looked like that. He was carrying some bag full of stuff and was lumping a little bit. He was wearing that old coat with the amblem of Border control from the times of old Yugoslavia. "Volvo man, red Volvo, license plate BG*xxx-xxx, hit me yesterday and ran away, plastic bumper, but I'm ok, I'm ok." - it was what he was telling to poor Chris who was nodding politely. "Here, take a look at this" - he was showing us the papers - "It says here...". The papers were diagnosis from the hospital saying that he got hit, and all other data were written there. Then we spoke a little bit and he told me that he lives in a church and is painting icons. Like Michelangelo I thought to myself! He showed me the little pendant cross that was hanging from his neck on a thin thread. It was given to him by Serbian Patriarch !!! (who is btw one of the most respected men in Serbia and an amazing person, when he was younger you could see him riding on the tram!). All in all I guess the guy was not that bad injured cause he ran away from the hospital... |

Great night and street photography...a very difficult combination I wish I was capable of doing. Great photos! |

Good one, I like the grainy night photography, and how one can almost get the story just from the photos. |

A very compelling story and set of images. The stance of the fellow in the left image conveys, I don't know, something like his resignation to his fate. This serves to remind me to appreciate what I have... |
