Yes, the cat's name really is Shadow. Again this is one image. Made a layer of black to put over the image then I just cut out some rectangles from it until I was happy with their placement. Used the stroke command for the white lines. It's pretty sloppy really since I was just eyeing everything rather than measuring, but it's just for experimentation with the overlay porcess. The middle panel is pretty lame actually -- it doesn't exactly stand on its own, LOL, but I really wanted to keep the original image intact so there ya go :-)
Processing was Color Efex Pro tonal contrast and the Silver Efex Pro b&w conversion.

BTW, here is a version of the image without the overlay

Oh I LOVE the stair step effect. Having the middle shot narrow really adds to the overall spacial quality. This is terrific. The more I look at it, the more I love it. The opposition of the "real" kitty and the shadowy one - AWESOME
