Hammurabi is a 9 month old who loves cookies (doggie bisquits) he is getting better at staying so I can get a good picture.

I tried several different colors under him but the lime green was the best showed off the black mask

Hi Liz -- greetings from the Critique Club...

Congrats on your new highest score with one of your favorite models. First I must say "awww very sweet dog"

I like how you brought us up close to your subject. He's well positioned in the frame with his eyes nicely lit and in good focus. His paws being even but not 100% symetrical sits well with me (I would agree with those commenters who wanted you to clone out the hind leg as it adds only a distraction to your well composed shot) The direct eye contact works as you got me down to his level.

The little bit of pink is just the right accent but it gets overpowered by the green. I'd like to see a boring gray or a natural background (like dirt, wood, stone) so that your objective of showing off his black is met. The green keeps this shot from being "all about the subject"

If you have any questions, please pm me.

I look forward to more shots of Hammurabi in the future!

Regards,
Theresa

Aww! Look at that face! Nice balance, cute subject! Good use of a colored background. for this challenge, I'd clone out the bit of leg showing to make it stronger center balanced. Solid 7.

great shot, not so great colour to put Puggsly on :) something a little more contrasty would help define him in the centre a little better i think. the focus in nice and sharp, and his expression is priceless (or perhaps 'her' I can't tell from this angle - we'll leave that one of 'unusual perspectives' :))

Anything that makes me say aaawww, gets at least a 6. I give you a 6.

Oh, he's such a cutie! Great shot of him (I say him, he may be a she), the detail in the fur is nice, and the expression is so cute!

Couldn't resist him/her, even though I usually score pet photos on the low side. This is so well done, and really is a centered composition that works.

Aww, how adorable! She's/he's soo cute... you gotta love this shot! Good choice of lighting, crisp focus.. shame about the green blanket, something neutral toned would've been better. Good luck!!
