I'm really bad at still life, and I don't have a pet. But I really need to get into the swing of things for the sake of my DPCO team. So here's my best shot. It's not very creative, so DNMC by challenge description...
Lit with a big shoot-thru umbrella off camera left, and that's about it. Post involved shoving the Clarity slider to the max in RAW, and pushing up the vibrance a bit. Once in Photoshop, converted to Lab, used curves layer to increase contrast on Lightness channel, and steepened a/b to up vibrance even more. Resize, sharpen, save for web.
This was shot with an old Nikkor macro (35-105mm f/3.5-4.5), so the EXIF is way off on lens length/aperture. Pretty sure it was shot at f/8, though. |

| I like this, good colors. The lighting makes for some really hot spots on those shiny apples though, something a little more diffused might work well? |
