Lit with a small led flashlight. Getting the right exposure on both the apple and shoehorn was tricky. I'm still having some trouble learning how to avoid the glare.

Pre-challenge notes:
I am going to get sooooo creamed in this challenge! I doubt the effort I put into this will be worth the score, but if I get a lot of good comments, that will make it a success for me. I could raise my average if I avoided these gag shots, but I just have too much fun with them. Expecting the usual sub-5 that my shoehorns tend to achieve, but maybe I pulled off the lighting well enough to get a decent average out of it.

Lots of comments on that glare. Based on past experience I thought it might only be a minor thing. I was wrong about that. Note to self: Work on controlling glare.

Post-challenge notes:
Can't complain about a 5 on one of my shoehorns. There are always a lot of low votes on these, but they pull in some good comments.

I love how the shoehorn is appearing in contests now. Good color too. 7

The lighting is a bit harsh, but I like the idea.

There is absolutely, positively no reason whatsoever for a shoehorn to be stuck into the side of an apple. It simply makes one say, "what the..." (However, the effect would be even stronger to those unfamiliar with this technique.) I still love it. I think the highlights really hurt it, though. They pull your eye to them and subsequently blind you.

i like the centered crop, the lighting on the shoehorn is good, but the burned out bit on the top of the apple is a bit distracting (aren't shiny apples a pain to photograph!). The crop at the bottom seems a bit tight and there almost seems a bit much neg space at the top.

I like the composition and the spotlight lighting, but I feel it's a bit harsh/bright on the apple's highlights.

Who else besides, Yo Spiff, would use a shoehorn! Very nice lighting.
