 More like friendly cooperation. Mainz is gearing up for Fasching - they have one of the largest parades in Germany and the bands (percussion, glockenspiels, the occasional horn, though not here) have been out practicing and performing in preparation. Here there are two separate groups who've joined together in a sort of drum-off kinda thing. It was WONDERFUL to listen to! They played off each other well. Note, though it's hard to tell here, that the ages range considerably in these bands - from young ones (sometimes very young!) through mature members (sometimes rather mature!). Delightful, I tell ya.

So the pic ain't the greatest - it's the story that's more important this week. Enjoy! (I'll stick a couple more in the folder, too.)

Nice processing to bring out those colors and detail. We have a drum & bugle corp competition here in town and this makes me want to go to it, I always seem to find an excuse to not go even though I want to.

Fine Photojournalism! There's something about the feel of European streets that just give a photo so much character. San Antonio has areas with those cobblestone streets -- yet -- they are still missing something of that character you see here.

It sounds like a very fun day.

Thanks for the info, nice to know about! I like the colours and how incredibly clear this pic is, and also the intriguing perspective. 10-22- is that a serious wide angle lens? (newby shows her ignorance again...)

Colors and exposure are good. I think the perspective could have been improved on had you shot from an angle showing clearly the two groups in a "drum-off"
