This wonderful old time replica gas station was found by Leo and we were going to go shoot it together but his little guy was ill that day and I had to set out alone. With directions in hand and the name of the gentleman who owned the property I was on my way to find this little gem. A few wrong turns later (the map printed so small you couldn't even read it with a magnifying glass) and some time on the phone to Leo I arrived at the location and went to the door and introduced myself.

The owner John was nice and lead me to believe that he didn't really want me there so when I said that I would take all my shots from the road he surprised me by saying "Hell no have the run of the place, shoot from where ever you want". John turned out to be quite nice.

After processing the shot it looked like an old faded Polaroid so I thought I would try to recreate that feel with the photograph, I hope I was successful in my attempt.

The Edit:

Crop
Slight desaturation
USM
Re-size for web
Added white Polaroid style border
Sharpen

way to sharpened...would have been a neat shot otherwise...would have looked good in B&W or Sepia also

Nice feel, but a bit over-sharpened for my taste

i get what you're doing with the frame but polaroids were square...so this just looks a bit weird

I like the concept and the composition but the post processing seems over done IMO. It seems to take away from the quality of the shot. I'll give it a six for the composition.

kinda like a post card but maybe too much shininess?
