This is a really unflattering and unpleasant view of this poor cat although kind of amusing. At first I didn't like it but on second viewing I've changed my mind. I had a thought that it would look much better in black and white so I downloaded it and converted it to grayscale and I was right. Much more striking and appealing. You should try it out.

I'm guessing the habit is meant to be the cat using the scratching rope. I call that instinct not habit. While I'll concede that individuals of higher functioning animal species can have habits, claw sharpening is something all felines do. My recently deceased cat had an endearing habit of sleeping on papers and open books. His mother had a habit of tapping paper suspended in air with her paw as if she was dribbling a ball. I'm not talking about paper someone would hold out for her in play. She would come across a piece of paper hanging over the edge of a desk or book or something and then start tapping it. It has to be seen to be understood. Too hard to describe. Anyway, the point is these are individual idiosyncracies whereas, claw-scratching is instinctive and neccessary to the cat. I upped your score because I think it's a much better shot than when I initially looked at it but you still lost a point because I don't think it meets the challenge.

is a meow a habit or just what cats do? other than that I even like the flash here (most times i hate it like the devil :) as it really makes it a candid capture.
