 My very first entry! In the spring, summer and fall I like to go out with my 3 year old black lab, Bailey, and play a liitle ball. Unfortunately in the winter it doesn't happen as much. Anyway, I've been wanting to take some pictures of him in action since he a huge jumper. Luckily on Saturday we had a beautiful day for it. It proved quite difficult for me to throw the ball up and then quickly take photos. Anyway I got three that I really liked and could work. This one I actually kept simple. Photo was taken in RAW and is uncropped. In the RAW transfer I only adjusted for brightness, shadows and highlights to come up with the final product. It may seem a little over exposed after the edit but I like the contrast. I think it made it a little different. I'm not expecting much out of my first entry but am hoping for some advice and critique to improve on future shots.

completely harsh, weird look. 1. My suggestion to fix it is to use a smaller apperture (higher F number) so you don't loose details on lighter areas of the photo. Also you should try this photo later, when the sun is lower on the horizon.

Rather harsh lighting which could be calmed with levels or contrast layers. Tilted horizons can work, but this just looks like a hip-shot snapshot to me.

the composition for this shot is well done but I'm not a big fan of the way the ball and dog look...i can't tell if it is a focus issue or post processing issue or just what
