Had a lot of fun with this one. Took a piece of glass topped with black foam - cut a hole where one piece of puzzle went and then placed the puzzle pieces in place. I put the whold think on a "platform" that let me put a flashlight under the whole affair. Placed a small object under the one puzzle piece to raise it up and then used a flashlight to light from below. I had a humidifier going to get the beams of light and it wasn't quite enough so had my husband light up his pipe. :)

Nice idea. I saw an image very similar to this on flickr, which IMHO was done better. I think the difference with that photo was that there was a better control to the light coming out.. This is pretty blown out, and blows out many of the peices around this one. Still a nice photo though.

Well done -- reminds me of a stock photo I saw in a magazine ad.

Haha, I've grown a little tired of all the puzzle pieces in this challenge, but this is a cool way to depict that almost magical moment when you finish that 10000 piece puzzle. Well executed, too.

That's a cool shot.
Can you tell me how you did it? I'm guessing the material is semi-transparent and you used a flash from below to shine through it? Not sure how you made the rays stand out, but dying to know. Nice work!

Ah, I saw another similar to this but I think the detail of having the pieces around the shining piece adds something extra to this version. I like this a lot. It's simple but clean. Good job.

I love the lighting on this, giving it an almost spiritual feel. I get the feeling that when that puzzle is complete ANYTHING could happen.

light is a bit strong, otherwise would make a good stock image

I both really love the "rays" but think the "glow" is too overexposed. I get what you're trying to do, but the total loss of detail weakens it for me. If we could still see a tiny bit of the lines (as in the outer areas), it would look more "transparent" and more like light.
