I've got another shot set up for the Free Study otherwise I'd probably have put off entering this as I'll probably get hit by the DNMC parade. This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the challenge - puzzled i.e confused.

PP - Crop, Shadows/highlights, overlay black and white layer (blue filter), add vignette, resize, unsharp mask, save for web

I think this cow shot is fantastic! Who cares if you don't think he looks perplexed - it's a great shot with great processing. The lighting is gorgeous.

Why is the cow perplexed? It just looks like a cow looking at the camera to me.

To be totally honest, I think this is a really nice photo, but feels like a shoehorn to me. I would have definitely rated it higher if it was in a more fitting challenge.

Whoa, that scared me a little. That is one big cow head. I like this picture, but I don't think it conveys a sense of puzzlement very well. Perhaps if its head were tilted or something it would? Great colors though.

wow. This is awesome. She just seems to pop right out of the photo. Why is she perplexed? Is the shoehorn stuck somewhere? lol. Not sure I get the puzzled part but I love the image. 6
