 THE IMAGE: My friend Goerge is a great man and an awesome, experienced photographer. From time to time he does commercial flights over the city for property developers and calls me if I want to hitch a ride and take some shots.

On this particular day, it was the Monday after the BLACK SATURDAY BUSHFIRES (WHERE 211 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES AND 1700 HOMES WERE LOST) and as we approached the airport he said he forgot to mention we were actually going up in a luxury chopper! I had never been on a helicopter before and this was a super dooper 7 seat, leather luxury deal with Bose headsets and on it goes!

When we got to the airport is was like peak hour traffic at the helipads. News choppers, police choppers, medical choppers were flying to and from the airport and we were in the midst of it.

What transpired was an amazing one hour flight worth around $2000 except I didn't pay a cent! I took about 300 images and got some great shots.

I selected this one as I love this view of our city skyline. The smoke can be seen in the distant hills.

You really could spend hours exploring the details of this scene, but at the same time you can take a step back and not be overwhelmed by the complexities of this scene. Great tones here as well!
