Grandma always had flowers in her parlor window - spring, summer, and fall - freshly cut; winter - 'artificial' (silk). She continued this ritual into her late 80's using a cane to navigate her flower gardens.

I like the color of the flowers and the vase but think a more plain backdrop would have made this picture even better for me.
