The image is well executed and I like the way the lighting fades to a proper black behind the figure. I don't think the POV is particularly flattering as there's no face-to-face contact for the viewer. The use of the reflective surface just mirrors this rather uninteresting view. The tight crop doesn't help either.
I think your scores indicate that there were few people who loved it and few who hated it. |

I gave it a 5, but could not at the time nail down why it was ok, but failed to grab me. I didn't have any problem with the statuette. No DNMC's from me on that. Thinking about it some more, perhaps it is the tight crop and the figure is already at the edge and looking out of the frame, which leads my eye out as well. Maybe some different lighting could have also played up the texture of the pewter a little more. |
