Such an emotive shot, and real. You ended up with a great score, but this is still underrated. You got an 8 from me. |

Thanks to everyone who voted , commented and made this photo a favorite.
Here's the story behind the photo:
This photo was taken during an Outreach Activity of my choir group at Barrio Puray, a remote barrio in the Municipality of Rodriguez, Rizal Province Philippines. We often go there to give this poor families some grocery items, used clothing, toys, books & other school supplies.
I saw these two little kids observing us after we arrived and while preparing to distribute the relief goods.
I took some snapshots, I was captured by the boys look, it's later on that I realize that they were holding on a barb wire.
Our group really hoped that we gave these kids a small reason to smile after we gave them something, in a few weeks time we're going back there to give more than 100 kids school supplies and slippers.
Again, thanks for the views and votes. |

Great expressions. Such innocense next to barbed wire. I'd love to know the story behind it. Post processing emphasizes the faces nicely. 9 |

I'm hoping to leave comments on as many photo's in this challenge as possible... this was one of the few images I scored a 10.
Most of my tens are awesome sunset, landscape photos, this is the only "portrait" style photo that made the top tier for me. I don't know what it is about this photo that speaks to me, but the inherent sadness on the boys face really moves me, and that is the mark of a fantastic photo. Good luck for a strong finish in the challenge. |

Powerful image. Lots of emotions being thrown at the viewer here. Them being behind the barbed wire fence and clinging to it strengthens these feelings even more and creates an emotional barrier that the viewer has to bridge. 9 |

good subject, but I don't understand the weird processing; either you want to have a documentary shot or something artsy - together it looks like you wanted to evoke an emotion you didn't have yourself. |
