 took this within the first week of getting my new 5d. i think i got a really good even exposure and the colors really pop.

this one is hard....while it is in good focus...the colors are a little dull (due to winter I am assuming)...just not as interesting of a shot as it could be...sorry

The breeze tossed the grasses back and forth, like all days that had come before it. The sound of birds filled the air, but otherwise there was a silence that filled the soul.

A silence that was broken, in this far out-of-the-way place, by a roaring sound that was utterly not of this earth, for it was here, among the marsh and the plains, that they came. It was here, in this idyllic vastness that it began.

In a place of peace and reflection, came an army from the sky that brought death and destruction to us all.

Technically this photo is `OK`.. but other than that it has nothing really going for it, there is no main subject, nothing to draw me in, the lighting is flat and uninspiring.. sorry but I dont expect this to do very well.
