 I was on my way to pick my wife up from the airport and I saw the sun setting. I knew there was a lake near by so, since I was early, I decided to wait there with my camera and see what happens. I sat on the dock for quite some time shooting various pictures, but nothing interesting. It was when I saw this couple about to cross the reflection of the sun in their boats that I realized I had a great opportunity, but I would only get one chance at it. To my luck I was able to frame the picture to my liking and, not only take the picture of them crossing the sun, but their boats just happen to come together to put them side-by-side in what I thought made an endearing photo moment. I also liked the way the sun hovered above the cloud line.

I did very little post processing, as I just the picture should be left as is. I imported from RAW in Photoshop CS3, adjusting the exposure down every so slightly, and Recovery at 100%, which made the sun and the reflection appear a little less over exposed. I then resized the image to meet the challenge requirements.

Not the best picture I've ever taken, but I like this one and always wanted to do something with it.

'Til the sun went down, they glided on golden pond. Sometimes in silence, sometimes in jest, sometimes just enjoying the one they loved the best. So whether they reached shore or not, we may never know. But they loved each other well, in that boat not so long ago.

I wish there was more focus on the boat but I think that was probably hard to do. Just getting them lined up with the sunset was hard to I bet.
