 I know this has been sitting in my portfolio since I joined. But, it has special memories for me. It was the first time I used my new digital SLR (Canon 20D) with the intention of taking keeper photographs. This was taken on a trip that my wife and I took to the Canadian Rockies and Glacier National Park. It was a joint 15th wedding anniversary/birthday gift. We left the kids at home with the in-laws for a week, and spent the time hiking and taking pictures. It was an absolutely fantastic week. Stayed in romantic B&B's, hiked all day, and went to great restaurants at night. We will definitely be going back there, with the kids this time. We'll probably skip the romantic B&B's, though ;)

used a 3-stop ND grad, as well as a polarizer.

editing was pretty minimal. crop, cloned out a few distractions, dupe layer in soft light, sharpen, save.

Well done mate, really incredibly image - you was up against some tough landscape shots in this challenge, but would of expected this to place higher..

Lake Louise has been shot by thousands, if not millions of tourists. Done to death as it were. This image stands out though. Btw...last report? The place is still beautiful. :)

I love Lake Louise! The natural colors are really incredible. I don't know if you boosted the saturation or not, but if so, the canoes pop just a bit too much.

Stunning as this one pops on the screen. Wonderful complimentary colors. Vibrant and clean. The dock seems to be floating in the air. Also has a bold composition that provides a bit of discomfort and energy. 9
