Delightful giraffe portrait.

LOL! I like the title... but not the inclusion of metal into the frame... showing that this was not shot in the wild.

Adorable posing but frantically distracting background
03/16/2009 01:24:58 PM
Great timing. He looks so happy and peaceful.
03/16/2009 12:12:43 PM
Lighting seems a bit harsh.
03/16/2009 09:53:25 AM
Haha, you captured a great expression, great DOF and adorable subject.

That looks nice! Great camouflage with this background.
03/14/2009 09:04:41 PM
needs a little color correction IMO , but nice zoomed in shot , nice capture of the giraffe's expression, 6
03/14/2009 03:47:01 PM
Such odd animals! Nice close up, but the background bokeh is too similar to the giraffe's markings. A bit of desat or more Gaussian blur would have helped.
03/14/2009 02:25:28 PM
LOL!
03/14/2009 12:19:55 PM
Ah! Nice use of DOF.
03/14/2009 11:46:39 AM
Ok. You caught a good action shot here.
03/14/2009 10:15:27 AM
really nice bokeh...would like to see a bit more tone in the giraffe
03/14/2009 09:05:52 AM
I guess everybody has to scratch an itch once in a while.
03/14/2009 08:21:42 AM
These guys are great. Nice shot.

It's a shame the background is so "busy"
03/13/2009 10:41:44 PM
pity it blends into the background a little too much
03/13/2009 08:53:25 PM
Good animal interest capture!
03/13/2009 08:32:32 PM
Too dark and the background is too distracting -especially when combined with the pattern on the giraffe.
03/13/2009 07:03:58 PM
I think the picture would pop more if there was more distinction between the giraffe and the background, maybe upping the green in the background would help.

Hahhah... i guess its a bit of a stretch to reach that scratch.
03/13/2009 06:09:30 PM
If this doesn't make you believe in camoflage, nothing will.
03/13/2009 03:07:22 PM
interesting how the background plays into the patterns on the giraffe
03/13/2009 02:40:52 PM
Nothing in the world like scratching where is itches.
03/13/2009 02:29:41 PM
Good shot. I wish the backgroundwas a bit more OOF. The giraffe blends in a bit to much.
03/13/2009 11:41:20 AM
Good capture, nice DOF. Looks satisfyin!
03/13/2009 10:29:51 AM
Great moment captured! Good job with the DOF.
03/13/2009 09:37:48 AM
lol, great shot
03/13/2009 08:33:14 AM
Great shot. The shut eye, whiskers and bokeh add a nice touch.
03/13/2009 02:55:14 AM
It is nice how the patches of subject and background merge together.
03/12/2009 08:54:59 PM
The background is playing to much against his colors but nice subject and story.
03/12/2009 08:31:43 PM
Great light, but the bokeh background takes away dramatically fro the giraffe. The two seem to flow into each other too much for my tastes. Maybe a lighter touch on the background would have created more of a separation of subject.

lol thats one happy giraffe.
03/12/2009 03:31:57 PM
Cute title
03/12/2009 12:24:15 PM
I think we have all been in the same boat before. LOL - nice job.
03/12/2009 12:01:18 AM
I like the sharper patterns of his fur with the blurred patterns in the background.
03/11/2009 11:52:00 PM
hehe, nice timing.
03/11/2009 04:58:49 PM
hahaha love it
03/11/2009 11:45:28 AM
well seen, but the camera settings obviously were not proper for that situation - image has a purplish cast, lights are blown. could also be sharper
03/11/2009 09:51:14 AM
in my opinion, the background is too busy and the giraffe's head gets lost in it. great impression on the face though :)
03/11/2009 08:22:43 AM
I wonder if the bokeh effect in the BG is what made this image stand out for you too.
03/11/2009 05:36:37 AM
cute, nice DOF
