I first met my friend Bev back in 1992 (or so we figure). Bev was in Singing City with me and one night, be a very friendly sort that she is, she offered me a ride home from choir practice and just kept doing it. Over the year's we would go everywhere with the choir with Bev driving me and another person or two to and from rehearsals at Community College, Holy Communion Lutheran Church and First Baptist Church, to performances at countless retirement communities, schools, churches and to our annual choir retreat which for year's was at Fellowship Farms in Pottstown, PA.

Bev was born and raised in Pottstown. Her mother still lived there until she broke her hip and came to live with Bev and her husband and then eventually with Bev (another story still on going). When we went to the retreat, we would stay at Bev's mother's home overnight. It was great not to have to sleep in a room with 15 keys of snoring. And Miss Marion was alway happy for the company and a chance to entertain. Always gracious and always a lady. She was 1996 when she passed. Miss her.

Bev kept the doll that her mother had as a little girl.

Post: Camera Raw adjustments in PSElements 6.0. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Lots of spot editing...I keep forgetting how dusty it is here and shot without doing something about it so lots of spot healing and cloning. Some further spot healing to tone down some glar on the chin, nose and in the eyes. New layer of levels and a layer of gradient map converting to greyscale. Open the levels dialog and adjusted each of the red, green and blue channels. Flattern. New layer of hue/saturation on colorize converting to sepia. Couple of crops. Adjust sharpness. Resize. USM.

This is a very nice well lit portrait of the doll. I'm not completely sure about the black background but otherwise great shot.

Of the old doll shots, this is my favorite. Lovely detail on the lace and face. Love the side lighting, but it got away from you just a bit on the blouse.
