I think this photo would be great without the selective softening. Such a cute capture!

I like the effect with this, is it lensbaby?

Cute baby - I might have cropped in a bit tighter on both sides and not have gone for the blur effect - I think the baby and the bucket would make the shot without it.

the eyes are great but the short focus detracts

Lensbaby?? Cute shot, but I would prefer more of it to be in focus.

Bucket a bit to blurred but good idea.

Aptly titled.

Not sure about that expression - very nice use of shallow DOF - I normally don't like blurry foregrounds, but it works in this one.

I'm sure you're very fond of this moment captured in your picture, but IMHO the feet are really distracting.

Cute picture, but I think the blur takes away from it. Could be much better with different post processing.

cute shot but the added blur is overdone

nice idea, but i would like to see the whole kid sharp.

Oh poor baby stuck in a bucket. (jk) Nice focus to draw out the subject.

Reminds me of a couple of photos we shot of my twin grandkids when they were little. We have photos of "Baby in a box" and "Baby in a bag".

I'm not a fan of the selective blur you've used here, sorry. She/he is cute.

This is so very delightful. I hope this has a place of honor in the family photo album, or better yet, framed and hung on the wall.

definitely a unique potrait, but it does not look too flaterring to the subject. Also crisper focus on the eyes would have been more effective.

I think I would prefer this photo without the softness.

I love the face and the scene... but there's just too much blur... not enough DOF to make this a high scorer, in my opinion.

Cute. Q little too much blure for my taste.

very cute. personally, i'd like it more if everything was in focus, but that's just personal preference

Interesting processing on this. Direct lighting is a bit bland but it's still a decent portrait.

Hmm, the blur is not realy my taste. Looks like a snapshot to me.

Awww. hahah. A little to much of the out of focus parts but I love the story and expression.

This is almost a 'lensbaby effect', although to be honest, to my eye it certainly looks like it was done in post processing.

A bit more care with the color in the skin tones would have helped it. It seems a bit strong in the blues/magenta. This might have been a result of the camera trying to correct for the strong color of the bucket in auto white balance.

I think it's cute and while I don't like the way the effects have been applied, I think the effects themselves are pretty fun, so I'm going to take the vote down and bring it back up again to 6. I wish there was a 6.5...

On second thoughts, nyeh, it's a happy challenge, so I'll give ya a free 'happy point'! :)

I think there's just a bit too much soft focus going on. What a little cutie, though!

what a cutie, doesn't look entirely happy...your gaussian blur is just a tad to strong....

I would have liked this better if the blur had been left alone instead of being obviously added later.

That's a fantastic title. I think it's a great moment that you captured, but I don't really find the image that captivating. I also wish you had given us a 720 version.
